St. Nicholas’ Church is the Parish Church of Canvey Island. Along with St. Anne’s Church and St. Katherine’s Church-in-the-School it is part of the Church of England on Canvey – a team ministry. The church is a thriving centre for worship on Sundays and through the week. Whether you’re looking for somewhere to worship, or will be visiting for a special celebration, you will be welcome.

Attached to the church is the St Nicholas Centre – a purpose built centre with a large hall which is buzzing with activity all week. The centre is primarily used by Essex County Council Social Services, with uniformed organisations meeting on most evenings. Details of these activities are available under the ‘Groups & Activities’ page of this site. The large hall and other smaller rooms are available for hire – contact the Parish Office for more details.
